5 requirements that an industrial washbasin must meet

Unlike sinks for the utility room or workshop, industrial sinks have to meet very specific requirements. In order to meet the needs of the industrial environment, the following requirements should be taken into account when purchasing an industrial washbasin :

1. the right sink size

In industrial applications, a particularly large sink is often needed to meet everyday requirements. In our KUNe range, the SOLIDUM 90 Plus or SOLIDUM 120 sinks are particularly suitable for this purpose. However, if these basin sizes are still too small for you, you can ask us for a custom-made product. We can produce custom-made sinks in other material classes such as chrome-nickel-molybdenum steel, other shapes or sizes exclusively for you. Please feel free to contact us.

2. the ideal sink material

In addition to the size, the right material also plays an important role in the selection of an industrial washbasin. In industry, factors such as corrosion resistance and stability against acids or chemical agents can be mandatory when choosing a material. Chrome-nickel steel, which is used as standard in the manufacture of KUNe sinks, is particularly suitable for workshops, basements, utility rooms or hobby rooms – in other words, for intensive private use. If you need a sink for industrial use, a stainless steel sink in material class 1.4404 or 1.4462, both chrome-nickel-molybdenum steels, could be a good choice. These material classes can also be used in locations with medium (1.4404) or very high (1.4462) chlorine or chloride concentrations. We will be happy to manufacture an industrial washbasin in the desired material class on request.

Note: If stainless steel contains more than 10.5% chromium, a thin passive layer of chromium oxide forms on the surface of the material. If nickel and/or molybdenum are added, this passive layer becomes even more compact and corrosion resistance is increased. 3. the right sink shape

The shape of the sink should be adapted to the requirements of the respective use. You can choose from two different basin shapes in the KUNe online store: The SOLIDUM shape and the NOVUM shape. However, if these shapes do not meet your requirements, we can also manufacture individual stainless steel sinks in the desired size for you as a custom-made product. 4. the possibility of easy cleaning

Hygienic aspects can play a central role in the choice of a suitable sink in industry, but also in agriculture. Stainless steel is considered a particularly easy-to-clean material, which is why it is often used in industry and the catering trade. The smooth surface of this robust material remains smooth even after years of use and therefore offers little surface for germs to attack. 5. simple assembly

KUNe sinks are so-called wall-mounted sinks. They can therefore be easily mounted on the wall without an additional bracket. Our delivery includes both installation and siphon sets .
