Where are the Utility Sinks developed and manufactured?

KUNe is a company from Austria. Our Stainless steel Utility Sinks are developed and designed in Austria. Our high-quality washbasins are manufactured exclusively by carefully selected manufacturers who share our understanding of precision and reliability.

What material are KUNe sinks made from?

The Utility Sinks in the Solidum, Solidum Plus and Novum series are made of high-quality stainless steel (chrome nickel steel, V2A, material number 1.4301). Model ALEVUM is made of Stainless steel, material number 1.4016.

Are the washing troughs also suitable for outdoor use?

Yes, all Utility Sinks from KUNe, with the exception of the ALEVUM series, can be installed both indoors and outdoors. The Alevum series is intended exclusively for indoor use.

Is there a discount for resellers/installers?

Are you a plumber and would like to offer your customers a KUNe Utility Sink? Then we would be delighted if you could send a copy of your business license to service@kune-online.com with your first inquiry. If you also provide us with a valid VAT number, we can issue you with an intra-Community tax-free invoice.

How can I order from KUNe?

We sell our products exclusively online via our online store, Amazon, Hornbach, ManoMano and Hood.

If you are near Linz in Upper Austria, you can also view our products in our warehouse and buy them on site. You can find all the information you need under the information on self-collection.

Does KUNe also offer B goods?

Occasionally, a KUNe Utility Sink is damaged during shipping. These Utility Sinks, usually with slight blemishes, are returned to us and can no longer be sold as new. However, you can purchase these Utility Sinks from us in Linz (AT) as B-goods and collect them yourself.

Can you still cancel your submitted order?

If you have ordered too quickly or have realized afterwards that you have ordered something incorrectly or forgotten something, please send us an e-mail as soon as possible to service@kune-online.com or contact us via our contact form. We will answer your request as quickly as possible and make the correction and then contact you. You can also call us on +43 732 21 04 26 or +49 30 700 14 519 and leave us a message – we will be happy to call you back.

Can you change your order at a later date?

Yes, you can. We are generally very fast when it comes to shipping. So please send us an email to service@kune-online.com as soon as possible with your change requests.

Can you also buy KUNe Utility Sinks in a store?

We sell our products almost exclusively online.

If you live near Linz (Upper Austria) or are passing through, you are welcome to pick up a Utility Sink from our logistics partner ATZ. All information about self-collection.

Why is the “last pipe” from the Siphon to the sewer connection missing?

For very few customers, the wall connection is located exactly in the middle under the basin. There are also 40 and 50 mm types of wall connection. As we cannot know in advance what your situation will be like, we do not supply this part. You can obtain the part from any well-stocked DIY store or from your plumber.

Which Utility Sink accessories are recommended?

The following accessories are available from us to match your Solidum, Solidum Plus, Alevum or Novum sink:

Storage Tray (for Solidum and Solidum Plus)
Bucket Grid

Above all, you should not do without the Splash Guard. With the KUNe Splash Guard, unsightly stains on the wall can be avoided.

The order has arrived damaged. What can you do now?

Have you ordered a Utility Sink from us and found that your goods are damaged after opening the packaging? We are sorry, but this can happen. In this case, please proceed as follows immediately after delivery:

Please take photos of the damaged areas and contact us by email at service@kune-online.com. Please attach the pictures as proof.
If you would like to return the Utility Sink: Please repack the Utility Sink in the original packaging and write the sender’s address on it. In this case, please also inform us by e-mail to the address given above. You will then receive a free return label from us. Attach the label to the parcel and hand it in at a GLS store near you.
If you would like to keep the Utility Sink despite the blemish: In this case, we can offer you up to 14% discount on the damaged basin. If you have ordered “on account”, we will correct your invoice and send you a new one. If you paid for the Utility Sink via PayPal or credit card, you will also receive a new invoice and the credit will be refunded.

We generally recommend that you check your goods in the presence of the GLS driver. If you see that the goods are damaged when you unpack them, please do not accept the parcel and let us know. In this case, we can process the claim via the insurance company.

How long does shipping take?

We always ship very quickly – our customers say the same. We usually need 1 to 2 working days to prepare the shipment. In addition, you must expect a country-specific shipping time. You can find more information on this in our shipping conditions.

Do you also ship to Switzerland?

We deliver your order with Swisspost duty paid and taxed free of charge directly to your home(postage 10 DDP VAT paid) – excluding islands and alpine zones.

For companies from Switzerland: on request, we will be happy to issue the invoice with postage paid 30 DDP VAT unpaid.

Can Swiss citizens have their VAT refunded?

Are you an entrepreneur in Switzerland and would like to have your VAT refunded? We will not refund it to you. However, we will be happy to deliver on request with postage paid 30 DDP unpaid. This means that we deliver free to Switzerland, duty paid, untaxed. This means that your invoice amount is reduced by the Swiss VAT (8.1 %). We therefore take care of the freight, export and import customs clearance and duties. You pay the applicable taxes. If you are entitled to a deduction, you can reclaim the VAT in Switzerland.

Can I collect the goods myself?

Yes, you can also collect your KUNe Utility Sink from our shipping partner ATZ Logistik Linz. You can find more information on this under How does self-collection work?

When will you receive your invoice?

When you order from our online store, there are several payment options available to you. This is convenient for you – and for us too. If you order “on account”, you will receive your invoice directly to your e-mail address when the parcel is dispatched. To be on the safe side, please also check your spam folder. You have 14 days after receipt of the goods to transfer the invoice to our account.

If you have paid by PayPal, credit card or SOFORT bank transfer, for example, the invoice will usually be sent to you by e-mail immediately after dispatch.

For the sake of the environment, we do not enclose a printed copy of the invoice with the delivery.

Material

Why does KUNe use Stainless steel?

Why does KUNe use Stainless steel? KUNe deliberately uses Stainless steel because this material is particularly durable, repairable and resistant. Compared to plastic, ceramic or enameled steel, Stainless steel remains usable and hygienic even when damaged. Stainless steel also impresses with its color stability and ease of installation – in contrast to heavier or more sensitive materials such as natural stone or granite.

Can KUNe Utility Sinks be repaired?

Yes, Stainless steel Utility Sinks are durable and robust and usually do not require repair for a very long time. If something does happen, chrome-nickel steel is easy to repair. Your Utility Sink is rusting – what to do?

If the pool starts to rust, this is usually due to a lack of cleaning or incorrect use of cleaning agents. Chlorine or chloride-containing
acids or cleaning agents attack the stainless steel surface and can destroy it permanently! The same applies to alkaline solutions, cement residue removers and halogenated elements such as iodine, chlorine, bromine or similar.

If small rust spots appear at the bottom of the pool, this is usually due to oxidation of iron particles that have been introduced into the pool from outside through contact with metal objects (e.g. spades, shovels, etc.) and are starting to rust. To prevent damage, it is important to clean the pool regularly and to remove any corrosion at an early stage. As a rule, such stains can be removed using Stainless steel cleaning agents.

How do I prevent rust stains?

Clean the pool regularly
Do not use chlorine or chloride-containing acids or cleaning agents.
Clean the basin after contact with ferritic objects (spade, trowel, etc.)
Do not clean the basin with scouring pads, scouring powder, pot cleaning sponges, wire mesh or similar.

How do you winterize your Utility Sink in the garden?

If you have installed your KUNe Utility Sink in an outdoor area, you should winterize it in good time before the cold, frosty nights set in. The following things should be taken into account:

Stop the water supply and drain water pipes at risk of frost
Remove the Faucets (at least the cartridge). Caution: Freezing water can damage the Faucets!
Remove the Siphon end cap so that there is no more water in the Siphon
If your Utility Sink is directly exposed to the weather, i.e. outdoors, you should cover the Utility Sink (e.g. with an XPS board or a wooden board). The Utility Sink should also be covered if excessive soiling (construction site dust, salt scattering, bird droppings, etc.) is a concern in winter.

How do you maintain your KUNe Utility Sink properly?

KUNe Utility Sinks are made from high-quality Stainless steel . This Stainless steel is also very often used in the food industry. The sink is a durable product from quality production and can be repaired if damaged. Normal use of Stainless steel results in an even homogeneous surface (Oxide Layer).

Cleaning a KUNe basin

To prevent damage, it is important to clean the basin regularly and to detect and remove any corrosion at an early stage. As a rule, such stains can be removed using Stainless steel cleaning agents.

After use, rinse the basin with plenty of clean water and wipe with a soft cloth.
We recommend cleaning with our PlanB Citrus Cleaner at regular intervals. Then rinse the pool with plenty of water.
In case of heavy soiling and rust stains, we recommend intensive cleaning with e.g. PlanB Stainless steel restorer. Then rinse the basin with plenty of water.
