Got on the dog
Dogs are not only man’s best friend, but also rescue dogs, assistance dogs, therapy dogs and pets. With all the tasks they perform for us humans, they more than deserve to be treated and cared for well. Grooming is just as much a part of the care routine as cutting the dog’s claws or regular visits to the vet. In this blog post, we show you how to use our high-quality stainless steel sinks as a dog bath tub.
The purchase of a four-legged friend should be carefully considered. After all, dogs and cats also need time, attention and the necessary daily exercise. If you don’t have enough time for your pet, your beloved dog or cuddly cat can quickly become a challenge. Therefore, before you get a pet, you should think about your time resources.
Have you finally decided that a dog is just the right pet for you? Then it’s time to start planning. You should ask yourself the following questions before your new family member moves into your house or apartment:
- Where should the dog be placed in the house or apartment?
- Which products do I want to feed my dog?
- Which dog accessories do I need to buy in advance?
- Which vet is located near me?
- How/where do I organize the care of my new family member?
In this article, we want to focus in particular on dog grooming. After all, if you walk your dog often, you won’t be able to avoid dirt on its paws or in its coat – and that’s a good thing, because dogs should be able to be dogs.
How often should a dog be bathed?
The short answer to the question: not too often! Because if you bathe your dog completely too often, you can damage the sensitive skin of your four-legged friend. It should be noted at this point that how often a dog needs to be bathed also depends on its breed.
As a rule of thumb, dogs should not be given a complete bath more than once a month. For many breeds, it is sufficient to give them a complete bath twice a year. Otherwise, it is better if you only clean the dirty areas such as the paws. You should wash the paws regularly, especially in winter (road salt). If you are unsure about grooming, consult your vet or a specialist groomer. He/she will also be able to advise you on the right intensity of care and the right care products.
What requirements must a pet bath tub meet?
Above all, a dog bath must be practical. The material should be easy to clean and stable. Practical storage compartments or trays near the basin are also an advantage. Depending on the size of the dog, attention should also be paid to the load capacity of the washbasin. If these criteria are met, then bathing will (hopefully) be a pleasure for everyone.
What are the advantages of having your own washing area for your pet?
- Your own washing area (shower, bathtub) stays clean
- You don’t have to bend down uncomfortably to wash your four-legged friend
- You can set up the care station so that all care products are close at hand
- Your apartment/house stays clean if you position the washing area in the garage, for example
How suitable are KUNe stainless steel sinks as dog pet baths?
Our high-quality stainless steel sinks are actually also suitable for use as dog grooming tubs.
5 arguments in favor of our sinks as dog bath tubs:
- The material: Chrome-nickel steel is robust and durable and also odorless. In other words: unpleasant odors are not absorbed by the material.
- Cleaning: Stainless steel is easy to clean. After every dog bath, the sink shines like the first day.
- The size: Our stainless steel litter trays are available in different sizes and depths. From Chihuahuas to German shepherds, there is room for almost every four-legged friend.
- The load capacity: With a load capacity of 150 kilograms, the pool can withstand a lot. Even larger dog breeds can easily fit in the pool.
- The accessories: Our practical storage tray from the SOLIDUM series easily accommodates dog shampoo and other items.
Our tip: Add an anti-slip mat to our KUNe pool, which you can purchase online. This way, Wuff won’t slip while bathing.
Which KUNe baths are suitable for dogs?
In principle, you can convert any of our stainless steel sinks into a dog bath. However, we would recommend our SOLIDUM PLUS series. With its extra depth, it is particularly practical and offers plenty of space.
How our sinks work as dog bath tubs was recently demonstrated by dog professional Martin Rütter:
