KUNe Utility Sinks are made from high-quality 1.4301 stainless steel (also known as chrome nickel steel, 18/10 or V2A). This Stainless steel is also very often used in the food industry. How do I clean my KUNe Stainless steel Utility Sink?
To prevent damage, it is important to clean the basin regularly and to detect and remove any corrosion at an early stage. As a rule, such stains can be removed using Stainless steel cleaning agents. Below you will find a few tips on how to clean the pool regularly:
After use,rinse the pool with plenty of clean water and wipe with a soft cloth. We recommend cleaning with an everyday cleaner such as PlanB Citrus Cleaner at regular intervals. Then rinse the pool with plenty of water.
In the event of heavy soiling and rust stains, we recommend intensive cleaning with PlanB Stainless steel restorer, for example. Then rinse the basin with plenty of water.
My pool is rusting – how is this possible with a stainless steel pool?
If the pool starts to rust, this is usually due to a lack of cleaning or incorrect use of cleaning agents. Chlorine or acids or cleaning agents containing chlorine attack the stainless steel surface and can destroy it permanently. The same applies to alkaline solutions, cement residue removers and halogenated elements such as iodine, chlorine, bromine or similar.
If small rust spots appear at the bottom of the pool, this is usually due to oxidation of iron particles which have been brought into the pool from outside through contact with metal objects (spade, shovel, etc.) and are starting to rust.
What is the best way to prevent rust stains?
Clean the pool regularly.
Do not use chlorine or chloride-containing acids or cleaning agents.
Clean the basin after contact with ferritic objects (e.g. spade, trowel, etc.).
Do not use scouring pads, scouring powder, pot cleaning sponges, wire cloths or similar.
Quick tip for removing rust stains?
In most cases, these stains are removed with citric acid. Proceed as follows:
1 to 2 heaped tablespoons of citric acid powder (available in grocery stores in the baked goods section),
and 2 heaped tablespoons of salt
dissolve in 1 liter of lukewarm water.
Leave the stains to soak in this solution for a few minutes and then rinse with clean water.
